So, you want to know a little bit about the most fabulous scrapbook and printed paper manufacturer around. Well, let me tell you!

To prove that they were certifiably insane, three years ago Eric and Julie Comstock, two artists, decided to start their own company. They launched Cosmo Cricket in the summer of 2006 at the Craft and Hobby Association trade show. The idea was to have the best designed paper, really cool embellishments and a lot of fun. Things took off much faster than predicted and the first year was a scramble just trying to keep up. However, now, three years later, they are running like a well oiled machine that only has a few loose bolts.

Here's how they do it: A really great sales guy. Lindsay Moore has been with Cosmo Cricket since the beginning. Julie called him up one day and said that they were starting a scrapbooking company and they were told he was the best. She continued that they would love to have him work for them and that there was one other thing....... they had no money and he wouldn't get paid for at least three months. He of course said, "Sign me up!" Because of his charming personality, or the fact that they didn't want him getting away, they decided to make him a partner. "He's stuck with us now," says Julie with a wicked grin.

A really great warehouse guy. Devin is the man that gets all those orders out to all those stores. He is the strong, silent type with very eclectic tastes in music. When you walk into the Cosmo Cricket warehouse, you may hear Jazz, Classical, Country, Pop, Showtunes or even Opera. But you are not likely to hear much from Devin..... he's too buys shipping.

A really great bookkeeper. Carrie is the one that keeps Cosmo Cricket organized...... not an easy task when you consider she is employed by two artists. She is also patient and hasn't yet raised her voice when Eric has lost checks, keys or paperwork.

A really great office girl. If you call Cosmo Cricket, Kristen will answer the phone. She may be young, she may be blonde, but she is the Radar O' Reilly of the office. If you ask her to do something, she will tell you that she already did it. And, to date, she has never said an unkind thing about anybody...... not even Lindsay. She is just that nice. In fact, our only complaint with Kristen is that she is always cold and keeps the office at a balmy 80 degrees.

Two really great designers. Eric and Julie design all the products for Cosmo Cricket although after countless hours of observation, I can't really tell you how. They work from home, less than two feet from each other all day long being interrupted continuously by four children along with phone calls and emails from what they refer to as "headquarters". When asked about his work arrangement with his wife, Eric replied, "I was already insane enough to start the company, so spending 24 hours a day with Julie just seemed like a natural progression of my illness."
